PULL UP NOT OUT⬆️
Pull ups are one of the best bodyweight exercises that you can do for your back and biceps💪🏻
However, if you're new to working out, you may not be able to do them❌
If you can't do one single pull up, that's okay. We all start somewhere💪🏻
If you need help getting to your first pull up, start incorporating these 3 tips into your workouts⬇️
1️⃣Grip: You might not be able to do pull-ups, but there might be a chance that you can do chin-ups. Just switch from a supinated to a pronated grip on the pull-up bar. If you can get your chin up numbers up, it will have direct carry over to your pull up progression.
2️⃣Speed: Pulling yourself up to the bar may be hard but what you can do is start emphasizing the speed on the way down. Have something to assist you with getting your chin over the bar to start off with and from there slowly let yourself down. By focusing on the eccentric portion of the lift (on the way down), you will get stronger and eventually be able to pull yourself up.
3️⃣Weights: Start picking up some dumbbells, barbells, and cables and start doing some direct work for your lats and biceps. By strengthening the muscles that are involved in a pull-up, you're bound to get your first pull up anytime soon.
