What really stood out to me is that the song is over 12 minutes long, yet there isn’t a ton of singing throughout — and it works perfectly. It really goes to show how Maynard views the importance of every member in the band. Each instrument is given space to breathe, grow, and carry the song forward on its own.
It’s wild how captivating this track is, even when it feels like it’s repeating or cycling through similar parts. The tension, the build, and the patience in this song kept me completely locked in the entire time. That’s not easy to do, especially over 12 minutes.
This one immediately got added to my playlist. TOOL continues to impress me with how intentional and powerful their music is.
