Elder Joseph the Hesychast. Ascetics
The great elder Joseph the Hesychast was canonized as a locally venerated saint on Mount Athos. His blessed repose occurred on August 15/28, 1959. The radiant image of this ascetic is revealed in the memoirs of his disciples, who themselves had already become elders, as well as in his spiritual instructions and advice.
