I wrote this song a few days ago. Inspired by the guidelines of using "as much or as little" of the pre-recorded kitchen sounds pack as you choose, I decided to incorporate a few of the pre-recorded samples, but mostly record my own kitchen sounds over Thanksgiving weekend to round out the song with some real "home-cooked" love. So in addition to recording myself singing and playing acoustic/electric guitars and bass in the kitchen, I'm also actually playing pots, pans, spatulas, paper towels, microwave buttons, stove doors, salt and pepper shakers, grilled cheese sandwiches, and (of course) Campbell's soup cans in the song.
The first instrument that I learned as a child was drums, which I first started playing at two-years old, flipping over pots and hitting them with wooden spoons. So this project really brought me full circle back to my first attempts at playing music.
