Valerie Vili wins shot put title
Valerie Vili of New Zealand edged defending champion Nadezhda Ostapchuk of Belarus by 6 centimeters to win the shot put title in Osaka, Japan. The victory makes Vili only the second athlete, after 400-meter hurdler Jana Pittman of Australia, to win IAAF titles at youth, junior, and now senior level. (WCSN, WCSN.com)
