A day with the SEK - the toughest unit
That was truly a very special episode, as we were the first camera crew ever to be allowed to film with the Thuringian Special Forces Unit (SEK). It was an extremely impressive day for me because I got to see insights no one else gets to see.
It started with the physical tests – and I quickly reached my limits. After that, I was able to participate in tactical training, see how the SEK storms buildings – and even help out a bit myself. Later, we went outside to the training area: abseiling, climbing walls, and finally, the obstacle course with the team – the ultimate final test.
For me, it was a crazy day, and I had a lot of respect for the guys from the SEK. They are truly special forces, highly trained, and ready for the toughest missions at any time. An insight I'll never forget.
