ICF hires PWC to survey 12,000 coaches in 117 countries in 2011, here are the key findings:

Revenue pa close to $ 2 Billion
3/4 coaches in Europe, North America & Oceania
Active coach earns $ 47,900 pa
94% of coaches offer coaching + other service
76% feel that the marketplace expects them to have a certification/credential
54% of clients are female
1/3 are aged 46 and over
Experienced coaches deal with senior executives
Less experienced coaches deal with their professional practice
Globally, 66% interact with clients on face-to-face basis
In US 50% of coaches prefer coaching over the phone
43% of respondents concern about untrained coaches
76% of coaches see high growth in number & revenue
