Ziplines, Beach, & Pasta | Vlogmas Day 17
VLOGMAS DAY 17 🇲🇽 🧗 🌴 🍝 ZIPLINING, RAYS, & PASTA
I forgot to film a proper intro earlier (classic), so you’ve already seen a bunch of what we did today, but here’s the full rundown because it was SUCH a good mix of adventure, animals, and beachy food coma.
We kicked things off with breakfast at Alma again:
I tried a Mexican-inspired eggs Benedict
Brett went for French toast and absolutely demolished it
The Benedict was fine, but let’s be honest, French toast (plus resort coffee) always wins
Since this was our last full day at the resort, we wanted to do something memorable. Brett has gone ziplining before in Costa Rica and has been itching to go again. I’d never been, and this resort kept advertising it as one of their big adventure activities… so we signed up. Ziplining was:
Way more fun than scary (not super extreme, just enough adrenaline)
Full jungle + ocean views — flying over the trees and looking out toward the coast
A mix of classic zips and upside-down / “crazy monkey” moments where they have you hang and flip for extra fun
After ziplining, we took a golf cart down to the polo compound near where we played tennis the other day:
Walked around the stables
Met some very handsome horses
Checked out a ridiculously beautiful polo field — perfectly manicured grass, mountains in the background, and the ocean just on the other side. It felt like a screensaver.
Then it was back to villa life for a bit:
I did some editing
Brett played a tennis game on his iPad and yelled at it every 3 minutes 😂
In the afternoon we went back down to the Catalan Beach Club:
Somehow, we basically had the pool to ourselves again
Soaked up the sun, swam, lounged, and just tried to imprint the view into our brains
On the way back, we spotted a massive crocodile hanging out in the estuary area leading to the ocean — very majestic, very “I will not be going in that water, thank you so much”
The perfect end to the day was dinner at Allora, the Italian restaurant right on the beach at the same beach club:

Delicious food and a very “I can’t believe this is real life” vibe
We’re keeping it on-brand with another early night, because tomorrow we fly home (thankfully not too early in the day), and I want one last slow morning with the waves before we head back to reality.
