Winning a World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) ring event is a dream for many poker players around the world. However, a certain poker player by the name of Maurice Hawkins is no stranger to winning, as he had 17 of them before this event. During his quest for number 18 he finds himself three handed at the final table of the WSOPC Baltimore Main Event. Dylan Satyarthi shoves from the small blind and Maurice calls with the covering stack to try and get heads up to win the tournament. Will Satyarthi win the all in and double up, or will Hawkins send him to the rail? Either way, this has shocked the poker world and many have called it a huge scandal!
When playing in poker tournaments, no matter what the buy in is, it is important to understand that dealers will make mistakes, and poker players can sometimes try to angle you at the poker table. Therefore, it is important to remember that as a player in any poker tournament or cash game it is your responsibility to pay attention to the action and the results of any poker hand so that you are not taken advantage of, and perhaps lose a hand when you are actually the winner.

🔍 Preflop:
Three handed in a World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) event, with blinds at 40,000/80,000. Dylan Satyarthi shoves for around 1,000,000 with QTo with the queen of clubs from the small blind. Maurice Hawkins makes the call with a covering stack from the big blind holding A3o with no clubs. The cards get turned over, and Hawkins has a chance to get heads up in this poker tournament.
💸 Flop - Kc Tc 2s:
Satyarthi takes the lead on the flop having hit middle pair with a backdoor straight and backdoor flush draw. Hawkins still has an overcard and a backdoor straight that he can hit to win the hand.
💣 Turn - 4c:
Both players pick up backdoor draws on the 4 of clubs turn. Satyarthi now has a queen high flush draw to go with his pair of tens. Hawkins picks up a wheel draw, but he has to hit an offsuit four to win.
🌊 River - 5c:
The river completes Hawkins wheel, but it also gives Satyarthi the second nut flush with his queen of clubs. The pot should be getting pushed over to Satyarthi as he has doubled up. However, Hawkins announces straight, the dealer turns over Satyarthi cards and mucks them and he is eliminated in third place! What a huge poker blunder!
