Shot in İzmir Foça, Uşak, Kars, and a village in Kağızman, Mucize is Mahsun Kırmızıgül's fourth film.
This time, Kırmızıgül sheds light on the panorama of Turkey in the 1960s, a country struggling amidst poverty and the chaos of a coup. The film tells the story of hundreds of thousands of children waiting to be educated and the teachers of that era. Set during the coup period of the 1960s, the movie narrates the journey of an Aegean teacher (played by Talat Bulut) who is exiled to a remote corner of Anatolia.
