Discovering the Secrets Buried Beneath Ciudadela in This Atmospheric Puzzle Adventure!
Today we're checking out the demo for Echoes From Ciudadela, an upcoming first-person puzzle adventure set deep within the mountains of Chile. Following in our father's footsteps, we set out to uncover the secrets hidden beneath Ciudadela, exploring ancient ruins, solving environmental puzzles and slowly piecing together the mystery surrounding this forgotten civilization.
First impressions are definitely positive overall. The art style immediately stood out to me and the game does a good job creating a sense of intrigue and discovery as you move through the ruins. Most of the puzzles felt satisfying to solve without becoming overly frustrating and there's a solid hint system available if you get stuck. One of the more unique mechanics is the Balearic sling, which alongside the notebook and puzzle interactions helps give the gameplay a bit more identity than your standard walking simulator-style adventure game.
That said, I'm not totally vibing with the main character at the moment, although it's still very early in the experience and that could absolutely improve over time. Performance was excellent throughout my playtime as well, which is always nice to see in an early demo build. Definitely one worth watching if you enjoy narrative puzzle adventures with a strong atmosphere and archaeological mystery themes.
