Garbage Music Project مشروع موسيقى الزبالة
In January 2019, Rabab Luxor launched the Garbage Music Project. The project uses music as a tool to advance environmental sustainability, and creative waste management and as a mean to empower marginalized children.
To date, 18 sessions have been conducted. Throughout these sessions, 36 children between 12 and 16 years old, boys and girls, from Luxor in Upper Egypt, started learning how to make musical instruments out of repurposing waste (percussion, blowing and string instruments) and other social activities that focus on increasing their levels of confidence, articulation abilities, and creative capabilities.
