How to change strings and tailpiece on a violin.
In this video, I change the tailpiece, strings, and install a chinrest on a violin. (Timings below). The strings and chinrest are all fine, and if you've never changed them yourself, you might find this video helpful. Regarding the tailpiece, the replacement was unsuccessful—the bow fell off inside the violin (I explain what this is and why in the video), and I had to take it to a luthier. I show the result at the end of the video.
Tailpiece: Leichtmetall-Saitenhalter Light Alloy Tailpiece Wittner
Strings: Thomastik Vision solo
Chinrest: Conrad Gotz
