Dear comrades, today we are going to talk about Gennady Gorin, one of the main phenomena of the Russian-speaking YouTube. An elderly man living with his mother, whose speech is sometimes difficult to understand, has become a popular YouTuber in a few years and has gained a huge army of fans. His YouTube channel already has more than 1.9 million subscribers, and the man is considered a major star in his hometown of Oryol. Today I will tell you about the difficult fate of this man and about how he managed to reach such heights.

Gennady Gorin is almost 50 years old. He had speech problems since early childhood: the boy stuttered and lisped a lot, so his parents sent him to the local speech boarding school. These problems prohibited him from entering a university. In 2001, Gennady married a girl named Olga - you can even find videos of the ceremony on the Internet. The man did not tell publicly how he met his future wife, and nothing is known about her online. Except for one fact - she was probably the reason for many of Gennady's problems. Or, so Gennady himself claims. Unfortunately for Gorin, the marriage was unsuccessful: already in 2007, six years after the wedding, Olga for some reason left him. And now he lives with his mother again. Gorin became interested in YouTube immediately after his breakup with his wife. At first he just watched other people's "funny videos about drunk people," but after a while he started recording his own videos and made his own channel in 2015. His first wave of popularity came to him in 2017 when he became a meme in some popular VK public pages. But that was not a "good" popularity - in these videos Gorin was acting really disturbingly and because of these videos many people are still sure that he has serious mental problems. But Gennady managed to overcome it and turned his haters into his most loyal fans. It is difficult to characterize his videos or categorize them in a certain genre. It is probably most reminiscent of comedy sketches with a very peculiar humor and a touch of madness. Since 2019, Gennady seems to have decided to change the direction of his creativity and turn to contemplative content. Now, his channel offers not crazy videos that make some people laugh until they cry, but videos that are soothing and calming. In them, the blogger shares with viewers the beauty of the world around him, admiring sunflowers and happy pigeons. And although videos of this kind have been on Gennady's channel before, now our hero seems to have been filled with peace and found harmony with himself and the world. And this brought him a new wave of followers! The youtuber's channel now has almost two million subscribers. However, the old videos continue to live on Runet. Now snippets from Gennady Gorin's crazy videos have moved to TikTok and become memes
