Best of Both Worlds - Short Film by Karpal Singh
A story of every individual who feels lost in today’s world and to blend in has detached themselves from their true identity, their culture. Preet, a New Zealand-born Sikh, is a corporate guy. He’s pretty much a Kiwi boy and doesn’t want to be associated with his Indian/Sikh heritage. He’s busy enjoying life with friends and doesn’t have any time for his parents. Son’s absence has taken a toll on the parents as they wish to glimpse their only son. A new work colleague and friend, Tahu, born and raised in a Maori family, realizes Preet’s internal struggle and decides to do something about it. Reconnecting with roots was an easy part; society’s acceptance doesn’t seem so easy.
