The second narrative about creation. In the 2nd chapter of the Book of Genesis, we find a different view of creation than in Genesis 1, the Six Days of creation, which we discussed in the previous series. This second account starts with Genesis 2:4 – “These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created.” This phrase is a general heading for a whole new section of biblical primordial history that begins here with Genesis 2:4 and that lasts until a similar heading in Genesis 5:1. The Hebrew word toledoth (generations) that begins this sentence heads the various sections of Genesis.
