Raster vs Vector File Formats
Raster files are based on individual pixels are units in a computer or digital camera generated image. Vector files are not pixel based and do not contain pixels at all. Vector reproduction depends on a software and/or device being able to "read" the points, lines and fills of objects in the file created from a vector program like Illustrator or Scribl.
