How MICROBENDING can improve your phrasing

Micro bending is a popular phrasing technique used in blues, rock and many other styles, in which the string is bent up until it is a quarter-tone higher in pitch than the original note.
You have to push the string across or over the fingerboard with your left hand finger so that the pitch goes up a quarter tone.
Notice that I slightly bend the note, but it doesn't go up to the next semitone. In other words I’m bending the note’s pitch up half a fret.
