4-4: Use Excel Custom Number Formats to apply ANY number format.
This tutorial shows how to use Excel custom number formats. For example 1234.5 could be formatted as: 01234.5, 1,234.50, (1,234.50), 1234.5000... In fact you can apply ANY numerical number format when you understand custom format strings (such as #,#0.00).
The lesson also shows how you can use custom formats to format negative numbers in a different way to positive numbers (for example, you could display them with brackets around them).
