house = une maison - une baraque (informal)
car = une voiture - une bagnole (informal)
food = la nourriture - la bouffe (informal)
cinema = le cinéma - le cinoche (informal)
clothes = les vêtements - les fringues (informal)
prison = la prison - la tautle (informal)
motorcycle = une moto - une bécane (informal)
Some of these words are very casual, so don't use them in formal situation, only with family and friends. It is also good to know them, so you can understand spoken French used in everyday situation.
