A Brief Tribute To D5310
Some video of the locomotive in operation, including some brief in-cab shots, preceded by a short photo montage.
BRCW/Sulzer Type 2 / Class 26 ("MacRat") number D5310 (26010), privately owned though based at Bo'ness, was recently sold to the Llangollen Railway, which unfortunately means it will be leaving Bo'ness. However, the Llangollen folks, being generous, allowed the loco one final fling at the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway 2009 Diesel Gala, and it is from this event that most of the footage in the video is taken.
With the loco expected to leave the BKR this week, I thought it was perhaps time to make a short tribute video, because I personally have enjoyed the little beast being around. I hope that visitors to Llangollen enjoy it as much as I did. Who knows, maybe I'll go down there some time.
By the way, the in-cab stuff is taken from a full video of the ascent from Bo'ness to Birkhill, an edit of which I plan to upload soon as a separate video. I did the same previously, but it was taken in low quality on a digital camera. This footage is done on a 3CCD DVD camcorder.
