In this video, I walk you through the process of creating a text color change effect in Adobe After Effects. This is a cool text effect/animation to create if you're looking for a cool way to have your motion graphics stand out on social media.
To create the effect, we're first going to add in our title. For this tutorial, I am going to use one of my favorite quotes from Paulo Coelho, “One Day or Day One. You Decide.”
Once we have our title or quote placed where we would like it, we are going to create a shape layer that will serve as our secondary background. We will then duplicate our text layer, changing the font color, and then placing it above the newly added shape layer.
To have the font change color as the background changes color, we will add create a mask over our duplicated text layer and have the path follow the shape layer as it moves past the title location.
