Are you losing repeat customers? Repeat customers. They are your loyal fans. They are your loyal followers and supporters and all around braggers of everything you do. Why? Because they had an amazing experience with you and your products or services. There is one little secret we have in the marketing world for creating these raving fans. And that is an onboarding sequence.
What Is An Onboarding Sequence
An onboarding sequence is similar to the series of emails you send to someone after they have signed up to your opt in. Only it is for people who have purchased one of your products or services. They generally consist of 5 to 10 emails spread out over a period of time to help your new customers understand how your process works and get to know you better.
Why Do You Need An OnBoarding Process
An onboarding process is the key to creating raving fans. Imagine purchasing an amazing vacation package. All inclusive. Everything you need. And then when you arrive at the airport there is no information to be found. You finally do manage to get on the plane and it leaves you in the middle of no where and you have to trek through the forrest to find your hotel. That is not going to create raving fans. Now imagine the same vacation but you’ve been emailed all the instructions ahead of time. A reminder email comes to you the day before your flight. There is a map of how to get to the hotel or better yet someone is there waiting to guide you. That certainly creates a different experience. And that is what your onboarding process does for someone.

How Does It Work?
The most common way to set this up is through your funnel. Someone comes to your website and signs up for your free offer. On the thank you page, you have a tripwire such as an e-book for them to purchase. Because they are so excited about your free offer they decide to purchase your ebook. They purchase it on your shop on your website and it automatically connects them to your email service to start sending an email series to them after they have completed their purchase. In that email sequence, there are more offers for them to upgrade and purchase more products or services from you. And it’s all automated.
How to connect WooCommerce and Mailchimp
The easiest way to do this is to use WooCommerce as your shop on your website and Mailchimp as your email service. Both can be set up in minutes and are free to use. In this week’s video, I am showing you just how to connect them using a plugin. Enjoy!
