Mientras “SUMI” se centraba en la expresividad de la tinta y la fuerza del trazo, “WATER” nos sumerge en un registro más sereno y atmosférico, donde el color, la luz y la transparencia son los verdaderos protagonistas.
A través de acuarelas, bocetos y composiciones a color inspiradas en su célebre manga “Vagabond”, Inoue explora la naturaleza del movimiento y la quietud, la materia y el espíritu. Cada ilustración respira la misma sensibilidad que caracteriza su reinterpretación de la vida del legendario samurái Miyamoto Musashi, pero desde una mirada más contemplativa y poética.
La reciente reimpresión conjunta de “SUMI” y “WATER” ha supuesto una oportunidad única para quienes admiramos el arte de Inoue de disfrutar nuevamente de estas ediciones sin recurrir al mercado de segunda mano.
En mi caso, una vez más, pude hacerme con este ejemplar gracias a la librería madrileña “Aprende Japonés Hoy”, que gestiona importaciones de este tipo de joyas:

While SUMI focused on the expressive power of ink and the strength of the brushstroke, WATER immerses us in a more serene and atmospheric world, where color, light, and transparency take center stage.
Through watercolors, sketches, and full-color compositions inspired by his acclaimed manga Vagabond, Inoue explores the nature of movement and stillness, matter and spirit.
Each illustration breathes the same sensitivity that defines his reinterpretation of the legendary samurai Miyamoto Musashi, but from a more contemplative and poetic perspective.
The recent reprint of SUMI and WATER has been a unique opportunity for fans of Inoue’s art to enjoy these beautiful editions once again — without having to resort to the secondhand market.
