Pros and Cons of Wave Editing vs Gain Automation
Wave editing is destructive, meaning that beyond the number of undo levels available, you are permanently affecting your audio which is why I recommend doing a Bounce in Place first. Wave editing has the advantage of not taking up any processing power once it’s done because it’s not using any plugins.
Gain automation is non destructive so you can always go back and change it. It does however add another plugin (albeit light) on your processor load. If you are running a powerhouse of a Mac then this may not be an issue and is probably the safest place to start.
Hit play and let’s fix those clicks!
