Cattle Grazing Important to Merced Vernal Pools and Grassland Natural Reserve
Cattle grazing, as reserve Director Chris Swarth shows, is very important to the preservation of the natural reserve lands. The cows naturally mow invasive plants, allowing native plants to flourish. They are also a lesson in resource management, as leaders work to assure the grazing is done in a responsible way.
