Porsche Mission E - Is the Cross Turismo EV Off-Roading's Future?
The Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo EV is an off-road legend Porsche gives you that generous performance for that opulent price, so keep your wallet open if you’re thinking of buying a Cross Turismo. Porsche’s first all-electric vehicle hit markets in 2019, and is the evolution of the Mission E, which premiered at the Geneva Motor Show in 2018. It’s a fancy pants wagon fit for a king. It beats rival vehicles like the Audi eTron, Mercedes-Benz EQS, and the Tesla Model S - except, of course, in the price department. At the “entry level”, the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo’s starts at $120,000, and prices go all the way up to $221,000 with the Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo. Its seems insane for a station wagon, but this is a jacked up hyper space station wagon with some rally DNA that can zip from 0-60 in 2.9s (well, the Turbo S can).
Its an off-road legend for what it might be able to achieve when its range gets extended and they made a jacked up pure off-road version. Right now, its ride height doesn’t allow for major league desert running and rocky road climbing - it can handle a gravel road at best. But give it time, and we might see one riding in the Baja 1000, riding with Big Oly, Snortin’ Norton, and all the gas guzzling old timers in the off-road game.
