BASICS of ABR and ASBR | NG Networks
Let’s learning of some Networking Concepts! ABA aka Area Border Router is a kind of router which is located near the border between 1 or more Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) areas. This is used to establish a connection between backbone networks and the OSPF areas where at least one area is specifically 0. It maintains separate link-state databases for each area whereas the next one is, ASBR. It stands for Autonomous System Boundary Router. In this, a router has at least one interface which is connected to another AS, such as a non-OSPF network. Redistribution is supported in this router.
