Avebury Stones footage shot on crappy analogue hi8 had loads of pause/unpause jitter on the finished product making it unusable and embarrasing to look at.
But dont throw that footage away... use this free tool called Deshaker with the Free program Virtualdub... google them.
Run the automatic analysis mode (pass1) on the footage and then run the correction mode (pass2) to give you very stable footage now.
This program is very techie if you want to go into the fine details but as you can see for film/cine camera jitters or video jitters - vibrations on unstable tripods or wind jitters - it cleans them up without you having to be an expert... just follow my simple tutorial and you will be cleaning your footage i no time and for free.
Just remember virtualdub works with AVI so convert to uncompressed AVI format to send into iortual dub. Then the final output format should also be unompressed RGB avi. Then you can use whatever you normally would to compress or re-edit the fooatge back into your finished thing - windows movie maker or premiere etc... and get a much smaller file size.
