El tobogán no sería creado hasta el siglo 20, cuando un inventor estadounidense, jerbert Selner, vió en deslizarse por el agua una oportunidad de diversión y negocio, muy prometedora, por lo que en 1923 terminó la construcción del primer tobogán moderno, el “uaader-Toboggan Slaid”, instalado en Faribault, Minnesota. A partir de ese entonces el ingenio humano ha ido construyendo, al rededor de todo el mundo, toboganes cada vez más extremos y alucinantes.
