📌On the night of March 15, Schema-Archimandrite Iliy (Nozdrin) departed to the Lord at the age of ninety-three. He was the spiritual father of Patriarch Kirill and the brethren of Optina Monastery, and one of the most revered elders of our time.
📌Father Iliy spent his final days at the Forerunner Skete of his native monastery, where he arrived in the late 1980s and for several decades revived the ministry of elders there. Father Iliy left behind not only fond memories but also many wise counsels and prophecies concerning, among other things, the future of Russia and our people.
📌“The most important thing in life is to be with God.” These words and deeds of Elder Iliy have become a guiding light for thousands of people, helping them find the path to true happiness. Why did even a brief encounter with the elder become a turning point in a person's life? What spiritual guidance did he leave behind?
