Paper or Electronic Charts?
How practices maintain patient records is a topic of discussion these days. The advent of electronic records has permanently changed the landscape. However, technological glitches and/or malicious actors can wreak serious havoc on a practice, causing substantial or crippling loss of data, money, or both. Paper charts limit the risk of this sort of loss, but can be cumbersome and take up a tremendous amount of physical space in a practice.
