The FIND function returns the starting position of one text string within another text string. We can use the FIND function to find a character like a space and it will return a number representing the position of that space. For example, FIND(“ “,”Cathi Barker”) would return the number 6.
The LEFT function returns the specified number of characters from the start or left of a text string.
The RIGHT function returns the specified number of characters from the end or right of a text string.
The MID function returns the specified number of characters from the middle of a string given a starting position and a length.
