Sometimes when you want to update your device through Samsung KIES, it keeps asking to update KIES first while it already has the last update.
When that happens you could firmware update your
Galaxy Tab through the device itself.
Make sure you've WiFi connection and your Galaxy Tab
is fully charged and/or connected to AC.
