Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K vs Panasonic GH5S (camera test)

Sorry for the delay. It was a very busy month, but I was finally able to upload a quick comparison between the BMPCC4K and the Panasonic GH5S.
This is NOT a scientific test. I'm not a camera tester or a reviewer. I'm a cinematographer who is trying to help other fellow filmmakers to make the right choice. I am NOT a Panasonic or Blackmagic fanboy neither. I shoot with any kind of camera, from the original Pocket to Arri Alexa, to RED cameras. I honestly think the camera is just a tool, nothing else. Also people always forget how important lenses, filters and color grading are. Cinematography is way more than a camera sensor in my opinion.
With that said here are my impressions: the GH5S and the BMPCC4K produce very similar images, but NOT straight out of the camera. Of course the two companies use a different color science, but with a quick grade it's unbelievable easy to match the two cameras.
In the first section of the video I tried to match the GH5S clips to the BMPCC4K and to me they look very very similar. In the second test I simply added some contrast to the LOG files and that's about it.
I used camera A vs camera B so people are not influenced by the actual brand name. Again, this is a test made with a very particular lens and filters. The results will probably change with a different lens, in different light conditions and with different filters. I just simply did what I could with what I had with me that day.
