This Is What It Sounds Like When Plants 'Scream' Under Stress
TEL AVIV, ISRAEL — Just like humans and animals, plants can also make sounds, even "scream," when stressed.
A group of Israeli researchers has reported their findings on the sounds produced by tomato and tobacco plants when stressed.
According to their research, stressed plants not only exhibit changes in color, odor, and shape, but also emit ultrasonic sounds that may be detectable by other organisms.
The findings are based on the researchers' experiments recording the sounds produced by tomato and tobacco plants.
