The Deamplifier is a prototype device I am working on. I want to share the development with you as it progresses, and when it is ready, we'll launch it on kickstarter.
This video shows the very first stages of the design, the thoughts behind the idea, the research, and the initial concepts.
So what features will it offer you ask? Why should you care? Well, the Deamplifier will lets you model your loudspeaker, using analogue technology, in ways that IR sims simply can't do. You can adjust the resonance of your speakers, the high-end, the low-end, you can cut a narrow chunk out of the low-mids mids, boost up the punchy upper-highs, damp nown the honky nasal regions and customise to your hearts content. You can even dial in the impossible, such as a speaker with the high response of a 6" driver and the low response of an 18", at the same time. And because it uses powerful driver op-amps to push current through tiny inductors you can even take it to the edge of saturation it like a real speaker too!
If you'd like to be notified once we launch then you can add your name to the list via our kickstarter private preview here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...
