In this video, I'll tell you about a new product from Kalashnikov Group, presented at the ARMY-2021 forum. This is a new modification of the Kalashnikov PPK-20 submachine gun.
The designers were tasked with creating the most compact automatic weapon possible, one that could fit into a pilot's emergency carry kit. Since creating a gas-operated system within these dimensions was impossible, the developers decided to use the proven blowback mechanism of the PP-19-01 Vityaz as a basis.
Thanks to the implementation of new solutions, the barrel was shortened as much as possible, making the PPK-20 the most compact AK-based submachine gun. This design is positioned not only as a weapon for pilots – thanks to the ability to use a quick-release PBS, this submachine gun can be used by special forces units.
