I Became a Streamer on TikTok Without Begging (Experiment)
In this video, I tested TikTok's live streaming system in a different way. Many streamers on TikTok overreact or directly ask for gifts to get donations; in other words, it becomes a form of "begging." But is it possible to make money without doing that?
To find out, I set some rules for myself and streamed for 7 days, sticking to them. No begging, no fake reactions, no exaggerated energy. I just played games and chatted. Instead of the live match and chat options commonly used on TikTok Live, I chose the gaming category and played Minecraft. I mostly played Minecraft survival, but I also tried some Minecraft mods designed for TikTok live streams. In these mods, viewers directly influence the game with gifts, making it more difficult.
In total, I streamed for 24 hours a week, starting from scratch, as a completely unknown streamer. Even though the quality was poor on the first day, people stayed. On the second day, I understood the system better, and after the third day, I noticed the same viewers returning.
However, as my streams grew, the views on my regular TikTok videos dropped significantly. I also realized that getting views on TikTok and earning money aren't the same thing, and some broadcasts received engagement but didn't generate income.
I tested different times, game modes, and the TikTok advertising system for 7 days. As a result, I earned approximately (spoiler) dollars.
