Gigafactory Texas on 4 September 2023! This is where Model Y’s and Cyber Truck production happens!
Since it is the Labor Day holiday, I decided to take advantage of the slow day and do a grand tour around the bulk of the 3,000+ acres that Tesla owns, and show some areas not normally viewed on a day-to-day basis. We also got to see a beautiful sunrise over the south end of the main factory!
The approach I used was essential a giant tour around the perimeter, then smaller tours around the east side, the cathode plant complex, the switchyard and Megapack sites, the East outbound lot and multi-level parking garage site, then a tour around the main factory to finish off the flight.

A few other highlights from the grand tour:
The west main entrance construction and installation of stainless-steel cladding and polished black stone also benefited today with some great lighting and reflections off the windows. The effect was fantastic and only hints at what the final appearance will be once completed!
At the far southwest corner of the property, we see the current state of hill and pond removal and note this was only partially graded with the recent earthwork in this area. Some of the hills and pond yet remain, and it is possible this was being used as a ready source of nearby soil to complete the grade work near the new EOL facility and west Warehouse on Wheels areas.
We see the water treatment plant and its water tower up close, as well as the horse ranch and nearby power station. In addition, we see nice views of the large east pond that is now part of Tesla's property via a land purchase in late 2021.
On the far north, we see the old farmhouse (now remote security checkpoint) and the large field still containing a lot of materials destined for installation inside the main factory.
Farther to the east, we see the "one tree" field where rental equipment is stored and maintained and the tree belt area where survey crews competed marking and some tree removal is underway for an eventual new road running from east to west, connecting the housing community with the toll road (SH-130)
