Vera Mazharova has contacted a detective agency. She asks to find out who the woman is who keeps visiting her husband's grave and introducing herself as his widow. Vera and her son believe the lady in black is the late Ivan Mazharov's mistress, who drove him to his grave. The detective's chief identifies the woman. She is Nadezhda Zorina, an employee of the art school. But the detectives don't have time to speak with Nadezhda. Zorina is attacked by an unknown assailant. The detectives wonder why Nadezhda appropriated someone else's dead body if her real husband is alive. Vera doesn't recognize Nadezhda as her husband's mistress and asks them to stop the investigation. But Zorina's friend begs them to find out what the hell is going on around Nadya. And what kind of theater did the widows put on?
