RPG Maker's Saddest Scene
The most prominent thing that rings in my head, on completing Ib, isn’t a particular scene, or even the ending that I got. It’s the gallery theme at the very beginning of the game.
As disturbing as some of the art in this museum is, the audio here is… more so. It has this air of feigned professionalism. A thin veil pretending everything is normal, despite the sheer breadth of pain this place (and this game) has to offer. I’m not sure if any of that is intentional on the developers part… but it did instill in me a deep sense of place that I’ve come to associate with RPG Maker games like this.
