Want to install Linux Mint on a second internal drive alongside Windows — on an older PC with Legacy BIOS — without touching your Windows installation? This video walks you through the whole process, start to finish.

We start with a plain-language explanation of the differences between Legacy BIOS vs UEFI — including what MBR partitioning is and why it matters. Then we do a complete step-by-step install of Linux Mint onto a second internal drive, using manual partitioning to create separate root and home partitions and keeping the Linux boot loader safely off the Windows drive. Lastly, we use a few simple terminal commands to configure our Grub bootloader for efficient switching between operating systems.

The same process works on an external drive too — we cover that as well.

Two drives, two operating systems, zero interference with Windows.
