💡 Let's talk language - Observational vs Assumptive. Why should we favor one over the other? 📝
1️⃣ Observational Language: It refers to statements based on things we can see, hear, or touch. It's factual, objective, and generally free from personal bias
2️⃣ Assumptive Language: This involves making assumptions or judgments, often based on limited information. It can lead to misunderstanding and conflict, especially if the assumptions are incorrect
So, why is observational language preferable?
👉 It fosters clear communication: By focusing on facts, we can avoid misunderstandings that may stem from misinterpreted assumptions
👉 It builds trust: When we communicate objectively, it lays the groundwork for trust by demonstrating reliability and honesty
👉 It promotes empathy: Observational language helps us understand different perspectives without the veil of bias or judgement
Remember, the language we use can powerfully shape our relationships and interactions 🌟
