CS Principles: Unit 1 Day 8 - Text Compression
In this video, we talk about how to compress text in a text file by looking for repetitive phrases, words, and parts of words. We also discuss why compression is important, and caution against trying to over-compress.
We also discuss the idea behind Performance Task 1, where students will be given a nursery rhyme and have to both perform text compression and write an essay to explain how they chose to compress and how to decompress their nursery rhyme.
