For my whirligig models, I needed a quick and simple way to drill centered holes in the long poles that carry the model. In this video, I design a "drill guide", 3D print it and drill a centered hole in a 6 foot long poll that is 1 5/16" in diameter.
If I was drilling many more holes, I would enlarge the center hole then press fit a brass tube into it in order to maintain the integrity of the drill guide hole. However, since I was only making 8 or so, I felt I did not need the brass insert.
