If you have a Wi-Fi Router that also has ethernet ports, you can connect both wired and wireless devices together. Wireless routers create a network that includes both wired and wireless devices. This kind of network is called "mixed network." You can connect your printer via cable and your cellphone using Wi-Fi. Laptops, however, can use both - Wi-Fi and ethernet. If you connect your laptop using ethernet - it automatically switches to this interface and abandons Wi-Fi. But if you disconnect ethernet - it will start using Wi-Fi again. Ethernet is always faster than Wi-Fi, however it gives you little mobility. Some devices like photo cameras and cell phones don’t have ethernet at all.
