The ADATA XPG MARS 980 BLADE SSD, 2 TB [SMAR-980B-2TCS], supports PCI-E Gen5. It features a Silicon Motion SM2508 controller (the latest version), 16 banks of Micron B58R TLC memory with 1024 Gbps. It also has a 2 GB DRAM buffer (DDR4 2666 MHz).
The maximum linear read speed is approximately 14,000 MB/s, and the maximum linear write speed is around 13,000 MB/s. In terms of random read speed and multi-threaded access with queueing, it averages around 1,000,000 IOPS on my PC with an I3-12100F processor, but can reach 2,000,000 IOPS with a faster (more multi-core) processor. Single-thread random read performance is approximately 23,000 IOPS. Write speed after exhausting the emulated SLC cache is over 3,000 MB/s.
A fast SSD at a reasonable price, with moderate controller heating.
