1/27/2021:  Patient was spray painting last week, but unfortunately did not have any eye protection on.  "Something" got into her eye an she was not able to wash out herself.  After a few days, it did not improve and she was able to find Healthy Eyes Optometry through her VSP insurance panel.

Vision was not affected, but her eye was red and something painful.  I at first attempted to flick it out with a spud tool, but that only chipped the foreign body.  Ultimately, the Alger brush came to the rescue and was able to drill it out.

What really stood out to me was the "clink" sound the tiny foreign body made when it contacted the tip of the Alger brush.   Also the crater that was left behind was a perfect fit and why this rock was not successfully removed at home.

Fortunately, this rock was not metallic and there was no rust developing around the wound.

Patient left feeling immediately better and will be extra motivated to wear safety glasses for future projects.
