Editing films, videos, and other multimedia by day, and making music under the name Ginger Root by night, Cameron Lew (from Huntington Beach, CA) fronts a sound that can be described as: "Aggressive Elevator Soul."
The latest album’s title, SHINBANGUMI (loosely translated, another episode or story), was released this past September on Ghostly International and the songs bounce and groove with hooks and a deep synth-y vibe, evoking everything from disco to new wave to Beatlesque pop. The artist stopped by KUTX Studio 1A ahead of his show that evening at Emo's.
